Vilmundur (Vimmi) is from Iceland, studied graphic design in San Francisco, and now creates compelling brand identities from his current home base in Lippincott's London office.
For Vimmi, working at Lippincott means being curious and pushing your creativity and craftsmanship.
- What is a little-known fact about Lippincott?
Our incredible branding history, with a roster that includes brands such as Campbells Soup, Duracell, Sprite, Xerox and American Express. It sets our standards high for current and future projects.
- Which projects have been the most meaningful to you and why?
Working on global clients such as Saudi Aramco, Kansai Paint, and Expo 2020 in Dubai have been really interesting from a cultural point of view and opened my eyes to new perspectives and understanding.
- What’s your favorite thing about the place you call home?
Iceland is and always will be my home. The joy and happiness that overtakes the country during 24 hour daylight in the summertime is hard to describe.
- What’s your favorite place you’ve traveled to?
With many contenders, I would say Casa de Serralves in Porto is one of the favorites. The incredible Art Deco architecture, the surrounding gardens, the colours and the contemporary sculptures makes you feel peaceful and curious.
- Have you made any significant left turns, u-turns or corkscrews in life?
During my first year studying psychology I realized my need to nurture my creative side. I made the final decision during a class on a Monday morning, stood up, left the classroom and applied to the Academy of Art in San Francisco later that afternoon. Best decision of my life so far.
