Wendy quit her job to follow the Australian soccer team to the World Cup in Germany in 2006, and she hasn’t lived in Australia since (which wasn’t the plan).

Over the next few years she recruited for organizations including Google UK, before ultimately becoming Director of Talent and Culture at Lippincott. Wendy works with Lippincott’s leaders to find and hire the best talent, then creates an environment that allows those people to flourish.

What gets you out of bed in the morning?

Knowing that what I’m doing today will impact the lives of those that I call colleagues and friends.

For you, what makes Lippincott a special place to work?

There’s a special sauce that brings Lippincott’ers together to achieve great things. Usually when you throw a bunch of smart, high-achieving and ambitious individuals in a room, they clamber over each other to get to the top. At Lippincott, they support each other to build something bigger than themselves and, in the process, elevate everyone around them.

Which projects have been the most meaningful to you and why?

When promotion announcements are made, it always makes me smile. To see that the people I‘ve helped hire are succeeding makes me so happy!

What's your favorite place you've traveled to?

I’m an explorer and always hungry for new adventures, cultures and people. As such, I’ve traveled to a LOT of places on earth. But the places that come to mind are Yosemite, Patagonia and Ephesus in Turkey. The first two helped me to understand that I’ve been misusing the word “awesome” all this time, and all three have given me perspective on my place within this planet and across time.

What’s your happy place?

By the ocean, with good people, moving to music.

Do you have a mantra or a favorite quote?

“The most wasted day is the day you have not laughed.”
