Once a nationally-ranked fencer, Shaye brings her winning spirit to Lippincott's innovation field, tackling creative challenges to help brands and businesses grow.
When Shaye's not dreaming up innovative solutions for the world's leading brands, she's finding inspiration in the kitchen.
- What gets you out of bed in the morning?
A mentor once told me that management is a noble profession. I love leading teams and tackling creative challenges together. Also, a strong coffee and a HIIT workout help.
- When did you decide you wanted to be in this business? Why?
I've always been both very creative and very analytical in the way that I think and work. I started my career on Wall Street, but felt like the creative side of my brain was underutilized there. That was when I made the supremely good decision to get into this line of work.
- Where do you find your inspiration / source of creativity?
I find enormous creativity in cooking. At the end of the day, I like to put away all of my screens and devices and get into the rhythm of the kitchen.
I've always been both very creative and very analytical in the way that I think and work.
- What’s your favorite thing about the place you call home?
Absolutely nothing fazes a New Yorker.
- What’s your favorite place you’ve traveled to?
Traveling to Iceland felt like leaving Earth. It was so severe and beautiful. I love that feeling of being somewhere totally unfamiliar.
- Do you have any inventions rolling around in your head?
Constantly! I have flirted with entrepreneurship more than once and, in fact, hold a patent on one particular invention. But I love the variety that our work at Lippincott provides.
