Transforming the Moroccan telecom market

In a market dominated by incumbent telecom brands, newcomer Maroc Connect sought to gain immediate traction with a unique vision and innovative services. The new operator brand launched as Wana, Arabic for “close to me,” revolutionizing the market with its straightforward language, transparent billing practices and services that put the customer in control.

Challenges

Design a strong, dynamic, fluid visual identity and a flexible and accessible positioning

Bring the brand to life in new retail locations where customers feel empowered through hands-on product interaction, in-store demonstrations and knowledgeable support staff

Actions

Developed all aspects of the brand strategy and identity — from defining the brand’s positioning, personality and brand architecture to expressing it through a new logo and visual system, web, packaging and store design

Created and designed Wana’s pre-pay product brand, Bayn — Arabic for “clear/ transparent” — which puts customers in total control of their expenses with a teleboutique in their pocket

Created an exciting and defining launch campaign called “I can” that carried across all employee and customer touchpoints
